Other Details to Note
📝 House Rules & Things to Note Welcome to our family’s favorite getaway! We designed this cabin as our personal retreat to disconnect, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. Because this is our personal home, we put a lot of love into it and kindly ask that you treat it with the same care and respect as you would your own. To ensure everyone has a safe and wonderful stay, here are a few important details: Occupancy and Booking: The cabin comfortably sleeps a maximum of 4 guests. The booking guest must be present during the whole stay and ensure only their registered group are on the property. Please share the house rules with your group to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for your vacation and the next guests! ⏰ Arrival & Departure: Check-in and check-out times are firm so our fantastic cleaning team has the time they need to make the space perfect for the next family. (Please note that unauthorized late check-outs do incur a $150 fee). 🐾 Dog-Friendly: We love dogs and welcome up to 2 pups! Please use the provided stainless bowls, keep them off the furniture, and clean up after them outside to avoid extra fees. (Sorry, no cats due to severe family allergies). Enter the number of pets in your reservation as all pets and guests must be registered on the reservation. 🚗 Getting Here & Parking: Enjoy the quiet, well-maintained gravel neighborhood roads (please keep it under 15 mph to respect our neighbors) and park comfortably in the spacious driveway. Winter travelers: 4WD is required during snowy weather! 🪵 Hot Tub & Fire Pit: Relax and enjoy! We just ask that you shower before soaking to keep the water crystal clear, and always secure the cover when you hop out. Enjoy the fire pit safely by never leaving it unattended and fully extinguishing it after use with water. 🚭 No Smoking: To preserve the fresh mountain air and our natural wood interiors, smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cabin and on the deck. (Smoke odors indoors require a professional ozone cleaning fee of $500-$750 depending on severity). 🌲 Embracing Nature: You are truly in the woods! It is completely normal to see leaves on the deck or spot the occasional forest insect outside. To keep any unwanted mountain bugs from joining your vacation inside, we highly recommend keeping all doors and windows securely closed. 🚂 Valley Train Sounds: A train occasionally passes through the valley near the front of the neighborhood. Because it's a freight line rather than a scheduled passenger train, it passes by few and far between and only last a few minutes. Many guests actually love the nostalgic rumble echoing through the mountains, but we like to mention it just in case we have any very light sleepers! 👶 Traveling with Kids: Children are absolutely welcome! Just keep in mind the cabin isn't specifically childproofed (no baby gates or high chairs), so little ones will need close adult supervision around the deck, stairs, hot tub, and fire pit. 🏡 Helpful Cabin Details: Essentials: We provide a starter pack of basics (K-cups, soaps, trash bags, paper goods) to get your vacation started comfortably. Laundry: The lower-level basement is available exclusively for you to use the washer and dryer. Please keep the padlock secured when not in use. Security: For your peace of mind and property security, exterior cameras monitor the front door, basement door, and driveway. There are absolutely no interior cameras.

WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Find us
Reaching the cabin is simple and part of the charm of staying in this quiet mountain neighborhood. The roads throughout Shenandoah Gap are gravel and well maintained, and the drive in gives you a peaceful introduction to the wooded setting. The neighborhood is calm and rural, so you may want to take your time and enjoy the scenery as you make your way to the property. The posted speed limit is 15 miles per hour. Most guests find the drive easy throughout the year. During winter weather, snow and ice can make mountain roads more challenging, and a four wheel drive vehicle is required for safe access. Taking it slow and driving with care will make your arrival comfortable no matter the season. Once you reach the cabin, you will have plenty of parking space in the large gravel driveway. The area is quiet and spread out, so you will need a vehicle to get around to nearby attractions, including the national park, local wineries, Luray, and other popular spots in the Shenandoah Valley. The drive is peaceful, scenic, and a natural part of the mountain experience.
