A perfect log cabin for a stay near Shenandoah! The cabin was exactly as we expected and tucked back in the woods for a private get away. The drive up to the cabin was not too difficult, but be prepared for a bit of an incline to reach the driveway. The driveway provides a flat parking space for your vehicle, which we greatly appreciated. The cabin is well maintained and cleaned decently well. Relaxing in the hot tub was a great way to end our day. We would absolutely rebook this cabin if we were to return to the area. Thank you for a great stay, Meredith and Joe!

Charming little cabin for a girls weekend getaway. The hosts were very responsive and provided good instructions for everything. We made use of all of the amenities, including a fully stocked kitchen, the firepit, and the hot tub. It’s tucked away but near a pretty river. The train did run through a couple of times the first night which was really loud, but even that added a little charm! We each found our beds very comfy. The towels were nice, and we even had separate hot tub towels. The kitchen was very nicely stocked. Sharp knives, nice set of dishes, lots of pots and pans, olive oil and spices, foil, I could go on… we brought food for out breakfast and dinners and packed sandwiches for day hikes. It was a great place to come home to after a long day. It took us about an hour to reach our trailhead but it was a really serene, bucolic drive. We were there in the tail end of winter so no leaves on trees but I imagine it is stunning when the trees fill in!

The sweetest Shenandoah getaway. From the easy directions to the thoughtful details, Meredith & Joe made everything effortless—every question was answered before we even had to ask, so we could truly focus on relaxing and unwinding. The hot tub and fire pit were highlights, the cabin felt like a cozy and warm home away from home, and the peaceful setting made the weekend extra special. We loved having board and card games to enjoy as well. If you’re debating booking—do it. You’ll be so glad you did.

Reaching the cabin is simple and part of the charm of staying in this quiet mountain neighborhood. The roads throughout Shenandoah Gap are gravel and well maintained, and the drive in gives you a peaceful introduction to the wooded setting. The neighborhood is calm and rural, so you may want to take your time and enjoy the scenery as you make your way to the property. The posted speed limit is 15 miles per hour. Most guests find the drive easy throughout the year. During winter weather, snow and ice can make mountain roads more challenging, and a four wheel drive vehicle is required for safe access. Taking it slow and driving with care will make your arrival comfortable no matter the season. Once you reach the cabin, you will have plenty of parking space in the large gravel driveway. The area is quiet and spread out, so you will need a vehicle to get around to nearby attractions, including the national park, local wineries, Luray, and other popular spots in the Shenandoah Valley. The drive is peaceful, scenic, and a natural part of the mountain experience.
